Presidential teeth

George Washington owned many sets of dentures. He suffered from lifelong dental problems in times when good dental care was not for sale - not even for presidents of the United States of America.

He had constant toothaches and despite good maintenance, one after another, his teeth got infected and abscessed. Finally, he lost them all.

Not only his bad temper, but also his politics may have been related to his bad teeth.... Eating, smiling, and talking must have given him great discomfort.

Poor George! Born too soon.... No dental holidays back then.



Nowadays, slow but sure, traditional dentures are being banned by dentures on implants. One of the many advantages: fewer "funny" home videos about people losing their dentures while laughing, boating or skydiving....

Although having "George Washington"-like cheeks here, I rather think Hillary Clinton suffers from Obama ache than from toothache. Today, the results from the pre-elections in Texas and Ohio are crucial for the continuation of her presidential campaign.
