It's magic

Last Saturday, when Russia (Dutch coach...) beat the Dutch national soccer team with 3-1, I was in the theatre.

'Handsome Hans' (Klok) creates illusions. He does card tricks (of course he does!), but also floats one of the girls in the air, has his body split, locks up a lady in a cage and frees another lady from the same cage etc. etc. In Las Vegas, his assistant was Baywatch babe Pamela Anderson. Unfortunately, she did not come with him to Holland. Nevertheless, it was a fantastic evening and there was absolutely no way that I could see through the tricks.

Many kids and some adults wear braces. Usually they hate them, even the 'invisible' ones. By the force of braces teeth move about a millimeter per month. This means you will have to wear them for quite a long time before your teeth are straight.

With dental veneers, we create an illusion. Teeth will appear straight, even or white again, and the gap that has been there for ages seems to have vanished.

Unlike Hans Klok, we'll gladly unveil our 'trick'.

True colours

One of my favourite songs is 'True Colours'. You will probably know it, because Cyndi Lauper made it into the charts: "I see your true colors shining through."

The first time ever I heard Cyndi perform this song, I immediately liked it. I bought it on LP, recorded it on tape and, quite recently, I downloaded it from the Internet and bought a DVD.

As much as I like Cyndi's version, it was not until I heard the Dutch singer/comedian Lenette van Dongen that I fell in love with the song. Cyndi's voice is pure gold, but for me Lenette's equals the rarer and more valuable platinum. Also, even more important, Lenette gives me the feeling that she is the kind of person who can see people's true colors shining through. I am not saying that every singer should have experienced the things he/she sings about, but it sure makes a difference if they give me that feeling. I have always found it very unnatural for a 12-year-old child star to sing about the love of his or her life....

The true, natural color white is not the Tom Cruise white. Veneers are great, but can look very artificial if the color, shade or translucency is not right.

Our dental lab specialises in cosmetic dentistry and daily processes veneers. By the way, when comparing prices, please make sure that it is about porcelain veneers. Porcelain may be more expensive than composite, it also last much longer. Being too cost-conscious can lead to big disappointments. Veneers can chip, fall off, discolor, break or simply do not meet your expectations.

You know what they say:

A bad bargain is dear at a farthing...

Discoloured teeth

If you still use roll films and on one of the photos your poppy-crowded backyard looks like this ( which, by the way, is a sea garden in Varna, Bulgaria, by night), just complain and the photo lab will reprint it.

If there are any old photographs in your family album that have faded, just repair them by using Photoshop-like computer software.

If parts of your car are dull, just go to the car shop and buy some paint.

But what if your teeth are discoloured? Quitting smoking or drinking red wine and coffee will perhaps stop but not reverse the process... Sometimes you cannot even help it. The ugly stains are the result of choosing the lesser of two evils: taking antibiotics.

You cannot solve this by doing some shopping, can you?

Yes you can! Well, of course you will not find the solution of your problem at Tesco's. Instead, just go to our dental clinic in Bulgaria....

Dental veneers are thin porcelain shields. They are are suitable for relatively small problems like discoloured or chipped teeth or gaps between teeth. If maintained well, their life expectancy is approximately 10 years.

When teeth are badly crowded or too long, crowns may be a better solution. No problem, we have those too! Just book your dental holidays to Bulgaria and call us for an appointment.

By the way... unlike the adjacent drawing suggests, we will not force you into advertising by putting a DENTAPRIME stamp on every veneer.
