The digital volume tomograph is a technical innovation that allows three-dimensional recordings to be made of a patient's facial bones with a much lower radiation load than conventional devices. Unlike the X-ray machines used in most practices, computerised tomography allows diagnosis specifically for implantation purposes. The optimum siting of the implant can be determined based on a 3-dimensional image of the patient’s tooth and jaw configuration. The 3D volume tomograph and an implant navigation system collectively ensure the best possible planning and treatment.
